About Me

I am a D.I.D. certified interior designer with 4+ years of experience creating crisp interiors for primarily residential use. I have spent the past 2 years working in a fast paced environment with Bijou Projects in Vancouver, B.C. as an Interior Designer and Project Manager. Being a key member of a small team has equipped me with invaluable on-site experience and the confidence to take on multiple projects at a time. I am a hard worker, both independently and as part of a team, and am always motivated to create the best finished product to meet or exceed each clients expectations.

Experience
Interior Designer. Bijou Projects, Vancouver BC.

Bijou Projects is a Vancouver-based interior design and build company specializing in residential projects. My role as part of this intimate team allows me to get involved in all sides of the business and be very hands on from beginning to end of each and every project. My knowledge both on site and technically allows me to understand how things are built and be active in developing each clients vision. I feel that my experience not only as Interior Designer but also Project Manager, Purchaser, and Decorator has given me the skills to be able to explore a number of different paths. Responsibilities and experiences include:

  • Completed 15+ renovations for resale tailored to a specific demographic

  • Consult with realtors on market trends and opportunities

  • Maintaining project budgeting, estimates, invoicing and documentation through use of Microsoft Office programs

  • Schedule contractors and installations to coordinate with construction phasing

  • Involvement in designing custom elements such as doors, cabinetry, light fixtures, and furniture

  • Produce AutoCAD floor plans, elevations, cross- sections, millwork, etc.

  • Client meetings & presentations

  • Developing design concepts based on client meetings

  • Production of working drawings and permit sets for the City of Vancouver

  • Daily site visits to track progress and enforce deadlines

  • Specification and purchasing of full furniture packages

  • Research of new products and materials to be utilized in designs

Junior Interior Designer. Fox Design, Vancouver BC.

Fox Design Studio is a small firm known for its outside-the-box designs, specializing in mainly residential projects. Being part of a unit that works on everything from new-builds and home renovations to decorating and furnishing, I’ve had the great opportunity to expand my knowledge in all these areas, making myself a more rounded Junior Designer. Responsibilities and experiences include:

  • Solid knowledge on renovations from $20K-$250K, and on high end custom new-builds from $1M-$15M

  • Produce AutoCAD floor plans, elevations, cross- sections, millwork, etc.

  • Client meetings & presentations

  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs to produce documents, visual aids, and specification sheets

  • Selection of finishes, flooring, tile, millwork, fabrics, paints, etc.

  • Staging and executing project photo shoots

  • Maintaining accurate specification for each project

  • Preparation of material and concept boards for client meetings

  • Sourcing and selecting product for home furnishings

  • Assisting Lead and Senior Designer in all areas of design

Merchandising Manager. Urban Barn, Vancouver BC.

My unique experience with the company has given me a number of opportunities

in both the Merchandising and Marketing departments. I have been able to

explore my passion for design at a corporate level for various projects that have

helped me flourish personally. Responsibilities and experiences include:

  • Maintaining store visual standards through merchandising and execution of brand image.

  • Responsible for in-store elevation and adaptation of all corporate directives for monthly launches of new collections.

  • Meeting floor set deadlines and budgets.

  • Actively involved in the development of visual directives at a corporate level.

  • Creation of seasonal catalog photo shoots in partnership with the Marketing department.

  • Producing creative blog entries on the website and storewide fórum.

  • Having a strong understanding of current trends in design, architecture and fashion.

  • Executing the openings of new stores across British Columbia.
